Letter from the Snyder family

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our father's passing on Saturday morning, April 29th at the age of 96. He fell on Sunday evening, sustained some broken bones and progressed into hospice care on Wednesday. Over his last few days he was able to be at their apartment in Falmouth, Maine, surrounded by his loving family, incredibly supportive caregivers, and all of his precious memories of HUB, Cranbrook, Michigan, Cedar Run and more.

We know many of you will want to reach out with memories and stories — please feel free to do so either by email or snail mail (my father's preferred communication :) at the or addresses below. Also, my father's obituary and site to share remembrances can be found by clicking here.  As you can imagine given Dad's passion for HUB, in lieu of flowers, any gifts in his honor should be made to Horizons-Upward Bound (click here to give to HUB or checks can be mailed to HUB, PO Box 801, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303). Finally, click here to see a video commemorating 50 years of HUB.

There will be a memorial service at Christ Church Cranbrook — details to come, but that event will most likely be in the fall.

We know this email list will only scratch the surface of the lives he touched in his 96+ years; so please do not hesitate to share the news. We are so thankful for your presence in my father's long life.

With love and friendship to you all and deep gratitude for a life well-lived,

Ben, Abby, Amy and Margot
